One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the LORD. Across the sky the clouds parted and he saw a vision. He saw many scenes from his life. In each scene he saw himself walking along the beach with the LORD. In the background, there were two sets of footprints in the sand; one belonged to him and the other to the LORD. When the last scene passed, he looked back at the footprints. He saw that in the most difficult times of his life, there was only one set of footprints. He realized that it was when he was most alone, it was when he needed the Lord most, that the Lord was carrying him. When he returned, he asked the Lord why, when he needed Him most, there was only one set of footprints. The Lord replied, My precious child, I love you and would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, I carried you in my arms.
